The last letterpress in the old city
Wooden type, hand-mixed ink and wedding cards that take a week. A workshop that refuses to hurry.

The workshop is down a lane too narrow for a car. Inside, the smell of ink is older than anyone working there.
The press prints wedding cards, visiting cards and the occasional poetry booklet, one sheet at a time. Each card takes a week from order to delivery.
“A machine can be faster. It cannot make the letters sit inside the paper like this.”
One sheet at a time
The owner, a made-up printer for this sample story, says customers come for the feel of the paper. They can tell the letters are pressed, not printed.
