A neighbourhood mushaira fills a community hall
Poets from three generations read to a full hall. The youngest was 19.

A community hall in Islamabad was full on Saturday night for a neighbourhood mushaira, with poets aged 19 to 80 reading in Urdu and Punjabi.
Organisers said they had expected eighty people and counted more than two hundred. Late arrivals stood along the back wall.
The evening ran past midnight. The loudest response of the night went to the youngest poet, a university student reading her first ghazal in public.
The organisers plan to hold the next one in spring, in a bigger hall.
