A women's football league kicks off in a school ground
Six teams, Friday evenings and a borrowed ground. The league started with a WhatsApp group.

Six women's football teams played the opening round of a new amateur league in Rawalpindi on Friday evening, on a school ground lent for the season.
The league started in a WhatsApp group of university friends who wanted regular matches. It now has players aged 17 to 38, including two mothers who bring their children to watch.
“We did not need a big sponsor. We needed a ground, a referee and a time that worked for everyone.”
Matches are 30 minutes each half. A small fee covers referees, water and first aid.
Organisers said they would welcome another ground for next season so that they can add two more teams.
