A lake at sunrise, and the cold that comes with it

We set the alarm for 4:45 and regretted it for exactly ten minutes. Then the light reached the water and nobody spoke.

The cold was the surprise. Even in summer, the temperature at the lake dropped close to zero before dawn.

Pack a warm hat, gloves and a proper sleeping bag, even if the valley below feels like summer.
